Q. What insurances do we accept?

A. At Kiwi Physical Therapy, we will accept most insurance provided it has out-of-network benefits. We do not participate in-network with insurance companies except for Medicare. Unfortunately HMO’s and Medicaid cannot be used at Kiwi Physical Therapy. Insurance policies vary greatly though, and we would be happy to verify any insurance policy to determine if it can be used at our office. If your plan has a deductible, do not be discouraged, as we have a number of payment options to make that easier for you.

Q.  How can I determine if my insurance covers out of network providers?

If you would like to learn what coverage you have for services provided by Kiwi Physical Therapy, please call our office and we can inquire for you.  212.686.1112

Q.  Do you accept Medicare?

Yes.  Kiwi Physical Therapy is a participating provider with Medicare and can bill directly.

Q.  Do you file the insurance claims?

Yes.  As an out of network provider we can file your claim electronically.  This eliminates your need to deal with any paperwork.  Your treatment is fully documented, and the correct diagnosis and treatment coding applied.

Q.  What do I need at my first physical therapy appointment?

A.  Please bring your health insurance card, a prescription from your referring physician (if you have one), comfortable clothing, and MRI, x-ray, or other reports that would help in understanding your specific diagnosis.

Q.  How long will my therapy appointments take?

A.  Your initial session may take up to an hour and allow for up to 90 minutes for subsequent sessions if you intend to complete the supervised exercises at the clinic.  If you are time limited, we are very flexible and will work with your time needs.

Q.  How often will I need to come to therapy?

This depends on the reason you are coming to therapy.  Most prescriptions start with 2-3 times per week for 6-8 weeks.  However we have clients that come for personal wellness sessions, that combine Manual Therapy and personal training and our oldest client is 89 who enjoys boxing training twice a week.
